Pedra appropriates of the client’s needs forcing itself to innovate day by day. When making the projects we are open to different ways. One would be a completely handcraft way. Another would be the combination with machinery to get a reduced industrial production which suits the needs both of the market and the client as a result.
We work hand in hand with architects and landscapers on creating the projects and organizing the garden both public and private. So do we work with furniture both urban and particular.
Project “Cíes/Vigo”
Sculptural minimalist set designed for the city of Vigo, with its design seeks to optimize the cuts in the block and make the most of the solid capable. It is a work that aims to convey the strength and culture of a sea city.

Project “Dora”
Sculpture tribute to the illustrator Luís Davila, tireless defender of Galician culture and idiosyncrasy It is a sculpture that represents one of its most recognizable characters, the endearing, “DORA”.

Project “Bastaixo”
From the pedestal to the figure itself, the project is made by combining different granites, forming a single solid capable, without the need to use large stone blocks. This sculpture is a very personal proposal that aims to put in value the Guild, to transmit the individual effort in favor of a collective end.

Project “Inés Palmira”
Joint accomplishment with students of the school of Cantería de Poio, following the design made by the famous painter José Solla By means of vinyls, the 284 drawings are transported to granite slabs where they are worked and painted. Plaza Masso, Bueu.

Project “Retrato Mateo”
Portrait in high relief, commemorative detail for a baptism By means of sketches and modeling in clay a totally personalized work is achieved. The paint and the support seek the attention of the child, the true protagonist.

Transformation of the life of materials depends on the progress of science and technology and, of course, on creativity. Granite is one of the most durable stones. When creating this functional and avant-guard objects which experience with shape and esthetic, R Xiráldez sets up a line of timeless products ranging from large sculptures to small furniture in which programmed obsolescence has no room.

If you like and if you are able to value stone heritage; if you want to take part in a work which leaves its mark we need experienced and trained staff. (A degree as a master stonecutter, a five- year formation in the conservation and promotion of one of the oldest and most noble trades in Galicia).
